PAYROLL COORDINATOR
Greensburg, PA $55,000- $65,000 We are seeking a detail-oriented and approachable Payroll Coordinator to oversee full-cycle payroll for a diverse employee population, including active staff and retirees. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, supportive environment and is comfortable managing responsibilities independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture.
OVERVIEW OF THE PAYROLL COORDINATOR ROLE
Process biweekly payroll for approximately 1,200 active employees and 400 retirees, including monthly payroll for clergy. Reconcile payroll data, verify balances, and maintain accurate payroll records using payroll software and Excel. Maintain and update confidential personnel records and track PTO/vacation balances in Excel. Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations and assist with payroll tax filings, audits, and year-end reporting (fiscal year ends June 30). Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related questions, providing clear and helpful guidance to employees and clergy. Support general ledger activities related to payroll and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE PAYROLL COORDINATOR ROLE
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent payroll experience. Previous payroll experience, preferably handling full-cycle payroll. Experience working in a smaller organization or collaborative team environment is a plus. Basic Excel proficiency (data entry, formulas, and tables). EB-1586029670
