Job Title:
Payroll Specialist (Part-Time) Job Description This part-time Payroll Specialist role supports accurate and timely payroll processing with a strong emphasis on ADP systems and precise manual data entry. The position focuses on biweekly payroll operations, ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and responsive support to employees. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable handling high-volume, repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Responsibilities Process biweekly payroll using ADP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Perform accurate manual payroll data entry, including hours, adjustments, bonuses, deductions, and 401(k) contributions. Review and verify timekeeping data for accuracy and completeness before payroll submission. Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Assist with payroll corrections, adjustments, and off-cycle payments as needed. Monitor 401(k) file feeds and ensure related payroll transactions process correctly. Prepare and send live checks when required. Respond promptly and professionally to employee payroll inquiries. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Support payroll-related audits and reporting requirements. Collaborate closely with managers to gather necessary payroll information and resolve issues. Effectively manage workload and deadlines within a part-time schedule, especially during payroll weeks. Essential Skills At least 3 years of payroll processing experience. Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems, with ADP Workforce Now preferred. Proven ability to independently own and manage the payroll process. Strong manual data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic payroll reporting. Ability to manage time effectively within a part-time schedule, particularly during biweekly payroll cycles. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle high-volume, repetitive tasks. Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with employees and managers. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience supporting audits and preparing payroll-related reports. Experience handling 401(k) file feeds and related payroll processes. Comfort working in a structured, deadline-driven environment. Ability to build collaborative relationships with managers and team members. Work Environment This is a part-time role averaging approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule typically follows a Monday-Thursday in-office arrangement, with fuller days on Monday and Tuesday during payroll weeks and a half day on either Wednesday or Thursday. The position involves working primarily in an office environment, using ADP payroll systems and Microsoft Excel to manage payroll data. The role requires focus on detailed, repetitive tasks, consistent adherence to deadlines, and close coordination with managers and other stakeholders during payroll cycles. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
