Job Description

Careerscape is supporting a client opening for a Remote Entry-Level Payroll Specialist. This role focuses on processing payroll accurately, maintaining payroll records, supporting employee compensation activities, and ensuring compliance with payroll policies and procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in building a career in payroll, finance, accounting, or human resources. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with payroll, HR, and finance teams to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining confidential payroll information. This role is ideal for candidates interested in payroll administration, compensation support, finance operations, or HR services.
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this role is $75,000
  • $95,000 per year , based on experience, analytical abilities, organizational skills, and client hiring needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Review employee timesheets and payroll data
  • Maintain payroll records and employee information
  • Verify payroll deductions and adjustments
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries
  • Assist with payroll tax documentation and reporting
  • Reconcile payroll records and identify discrepancies
  • Update payroll systems and employee data
  • Coordinate with HR and finance departments
  • Ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures
  • Support payroll audits and documentation requests
  • Assist with special projects and administrative tasks
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience in payroll, finance, accounting, administration, customer service, or support roles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
  • Comfortable working with numbers and confidential information
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Professional, dependable, and results-oriented mindset
NICE TO HAVE
  • Administrative or office support experience
  • Exposure to payroll or accounting processes
  • Familiarity with payroll or HRIS software
  • Experience with Excel and data entry
  • Interest in payroll, finance, or human resources
