Payroll Specialist Job Description As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for day-to-day payroll processing for approximately 2,000 employees across multiple locations. You will play a key role in supporting a large project involving Workday and ERP systems, assisting employees with system-related queries, and ensuring accurate wage calculations. Responsibilities Process weekly payroll, including templates, commissions, and bonuses. Ensure time cards are approved and one-time payments are issued by Monday afternoon. Handle payroll corrections and final settlements. Generate and send final reports to various locations. Prepare for upcoming payroll cycles, including report setup in Workday and checklist management. Perform administrative tasks such as managing garnishments, child support orders, and verification of employment (VOEs). Use Excel templates for processing and a ticketing system for managing inquiries with a focus on detail-oriented work. Essential Skills End-to-end payroll processing experience for large volumes (500-1,000+ employees). Multi-state payroll experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with ticketing systems for managing inquiries. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work remotely. Additional Skills & Qualifications Some understanding of prevailing wage is beneficial. Proficiency in Excel features such as pivot tables and XLOOKUP. Experience with Workday preferred but not strictly necessary. Ability to download/save PDFs, generate reports, and follow checklists. Work Environment This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from any timezone, with a preference for EST or CST. You will be part of a supportive team structure, utilizing a 'buddy system' for training with existing processors. The team consists of a lead and four payroll specialists, with opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic, rapidly growing company. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Montville, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
