Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations in partnership with outsourced payroll providers. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, and acting as a liaison between internal teams and external vendors. This position can sit in Hartsville, SC , Charlotte, NC , and can be remote for a highly experienced candidate.

Opportunity to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and IT A role where you can make a real impact on process improvement and accuracy What You'll Do Review and validate payroll data prior to submission, including timekeeping, deductions, bonuses, and adjustments Audit payroll reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with internal teams and payroll vendors Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing, tax filings, and audits Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to ensure accurate data flow across systems Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries in a timely, professional manner Assist in improving payroll processes and supporting system implementations Monitor vendor performance and participate in periodic reviews Take on additional responsibilities as needed What We're Looking For Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably working with outsourced payroll providers Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Paychex, or similar HRIS platforms Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent organization and communication skills Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality FPC or CPP certification is a plus
