About The Role A Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and processing an organization's payroll accurately and on time. This role involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining employee records, and addressing payroll-related inquiries. The Payroll Specialist works closely with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations. This Position can be a Hybrid role out Charlotte North Carolina or Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Key Responsibilities Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for all employees. Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions such as taxes, benefits, and garnishments. Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on schedule. Ensure payroll practices comply with all federal, state, and local laws. Stay updated on tax regulations and labor laws affecting payroll. Prepare and submit tax filings, such as W-2s, 1099s, and other required reports. Maintain and update employee payroll records, including timesheets, benefits, and personal information. Audit and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy. Address discrepancies and resolve payroll-related issues. Respond to employee questions and concerns regarding payroll. Assist with direct deposit setups, tax withholding adjustments, and other payroll-related changes. Operate and maintain payroll software and systems. Collaborate with IT and software vendors to troubleshoot and optimize payroll systems. Ensure data security and confidentiality of payroll information.
Key Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (preferred).Experience:
2 years of proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role. Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., SAGE).Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools. Strong understanding of payroll systems and procedures.Soft Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
