Contract Payroll Specialist (Can be Fully Remote if need be) We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis to provide coverage for a leave of absence. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with strong Workday Payroll experience who can quickly step in and support a complex, multi-state payroll environment. This position is expected to last approximately 4 months . Key Responsibilities Process and support monthly U.S. payroll activities for a multi-state employee population using Workday Payroll . Submit payroll inputs and updates through Workday EIB . Review employee changes, compensation updates, deductions, benefits enrollments, tax elections, and time entry information. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies while ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance. Respond to employee questions regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and payroll transactions. Support payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting activities. Coordinate with third-party payroll service providers regarding payments, tax notices, and payroll-related inquiries. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of hands-on U.S. payroll processing experience using Workday Payroll . Experience managing or supporting the full payroll cycle in a multi-state environment. Strong understanding of payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, and payroll compliance requirements. Advanced analytical and reconciliation skills with the ability to identify and resolve payroll issues. Strong Excel skills, including experience with functions such as VLOOKUPs and data analysis. Ability to work independently and quickly learn existing payroll processes. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with OneSource Virtual (OSV) . Experience supporting payroll populations of several hundred employees. Prior experience in a remote payroll environment. Additional Information Fully remote opportunity. Approximately 4-month contract assignment. Standard business hours with some flexibility. Interview process consists of 1-2 virtual interviews.
