Job Description Payroll Specialist (Hybrid)
Work Location:
West Covina, CA - Hybrid (Mon/Wed), Onsite (Tues-Thurs) Company Overview A global restaurant leader and operating over 3,000 locations worldwide. About the Role We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join a highly collaborative payroll team supporting approximately 5,000 employees within the entity. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where team members wear multiple hats and contribute across payroll functions regardless of entity. The ideal candidate is a plug-and-play payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and can step in to support during a period of transition and workload redistribution. Key Responsibilities Process full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll (Monday-Tuesday processing schedule) Manage payroll for multi-state employees , ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations Perform end-to-end payroll functions , including: Timecard audits and payroll processing Garnishment calculations and administration Overtime calculations and compliance Payroll tax processing and reconciliation Final paycheck processing (terminations, compliance requirements) Retroactive payments and adjustments Support payroll for hourly, salaried, exempt, and non-exempt employees Collaborate with team members across entities to ensure seamless payroll operations Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data integrity Utilize payroll systems and reporting tools to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
Must-Have:
Experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) Strong background in multi-state, high-volume payroll (1,000+ employees) Proven experience with full-cycle payroll processing
Nice-to-Have:
Bachelor's degree Experience with Canadian payroll Background in the restaurant or hospitality industry Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs) Team & Environment Collaborative payroll team of 10 specialists Fast-paced, high-volume environment supporting a growing organization Cross-functional exposure with opportunities to contribute beyond standard payroll processing
