Job Description

PAYROLL SPECIALIST
Fast growing Foodservice Equipment Parts Distributor in Vernon Hills is seeking a Payroll Specialist.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Process a multi-state bi-weekly payroll. Support the Payroll Manager in the processing of the payroll. Responsible for payroll functions including time and attendance system, managing timecards, input of bonuses, incentives, commissions, deductions, and reporting for payroll reconciliation. Bi-weekly payroll organization is essential. Payroll data entry for all employees to include but not limited to the processing of new hires, department transfers, rate changes, address changes, direct deposit addition changes, retroactive pay calculations, garnishments, and other misc. deductions. Employee transfers within ADP Workforce Now and knowledgeable of feed files, HRIS & payroll system Familiar with ADP standard reporting, custom reporting and payroll calculation reports Maintain accurate personnel files, benefit files, PTO accruals and annual PTO Audit. Benefits administration include processing benefit enrollments, terminations, and other life events, file maintenance, dependent verifications, new hire reporting. Auditing and maintaining correct eligibility for all healthcare plans. Strong understanding of state jurisdictions, new state setup for withholding, and ensuring tax compliance. Processing wage garnishments and levy Making accurate payroll calculations, adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses and commissions. Familiar with Third party sick pay and payroll entries Assist with HR compliance audits such as I-9 Audit, 401(k) audits, and internal payroll audits. Year-end preparation and W-2 distribution Running monthly reports such as Birthday, Anniversary and supporting accounting departments during audits Assist in special HR projects as needed such as company events. General administrative and clerical services such as mail distribution, filing, etc. Provides direct administrative support to the HR Directors as needed. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
  • High School diploma or equivalent (required)
REQUIREMENTS
  • Three years payroll administration experience using ADP's payroll system a must
  • Two years general HR support experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and local HR laws
  • Ability to handle and maintain extremely confidential information
  • Must be well organized and great attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
  • Multitasking abilities
  • Ability to collaborate with a team
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
Pay:
$70,000.00
  • $75,000.
