Job Description

Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a prominent Business Services organization located in the St Paul area needcing to add to their payroll team!
Pay:
$65,000-$80,000/yr Hybrid Flexibility Full Benefits, PTO, 401k match and more Key Responsibilities Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Maintain and update employee payroll records , including wages, deductions, and tax information Review and validate timekeeping data , PTO, bonuses, and commissions Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations Calculate and process garnishments, benefits deductions, and payroll taxes Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end close activities Partner with HR and Accounting teams to ensure accurate employee data and reporting Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions Prepare and distribute W-2s, 1099s, and other payroll-related documents Support audits and maintain internal controls related to payroll processes Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and system efficiency Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field 2+ years of payroll processing experience (high-volume preferred) Strong understanding of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance requirements Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, Ceridian, etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
