Job Overview - Payroll Specialist (Temporary)
Compensation:
$28 - $35/ hour
Location:
Philadelphia, PA Schedule:
Monday to Friday (Hybrid) Atlantic Group is hiring a Payroll Specialist (Temporary) in Philadelphia, PA for our client. This role supports day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, payroll compliance, and employee support within a fast-paced environment. The Payroll Specialist will partner with HR, Finance, and internal stakeholders to maintain payroll accuracy, resolve payroll-related inquiries, and support ongoing payroll operations. The ideal candidate has experience processing payroll in a high-volume environment, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with payroll systems. Responsibilities as the Payroll Specialist (Temporary):
Payroll Processing:
Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on schedule while ensuring compliance with company policies and payroll regulations.
Payroll Administration:
Review employee payroll data, audit payroll transactions, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate payroll records.
HRIS Support:
Utilize UKG to manage payroll activities and assist with payroll-related system updates.
Compliance:
Ensure payroll activities comply with federal, state, and local payroll regulations while maintaining confidentiality of employee information.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and system implementation teams to support payroll operations and resolve payroll-related issues.
Process Support:
Assist with payroll reporting, documentation, and workflow improvements to ensure business continuity throughout the system implementation. Qualifications for the Payroll Specialist (Temporary):
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of full-cycle payroll processing experience is required.
Industry Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of payroll operations, payroll compliance, and payroll best practices is required.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience with UKG is required. Experience with Workday Payroll or Workday HCM is strongly preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.

Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
