Job Title:
Payroll Clerk Location(s): South Bend, IN
Job Summary:
Administer all functions of the time and attendance payroll system for a union workforce, ensuring accurate payroll processing through reconciliation of employee hours, incentive pay, and production data. Partner closely with Human Resources to ensure all payroll activitiesply with union agreements, employment policies, and benefits practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily payroll operations within ADP eTime, including inputting, reviewing, and clearing timecard exceptions. Collaborate with supervisors and operators to verify employee hours, production data, and incentive pay for payroll accuracy. Reconcile daily payroll and production summaries, ensuring alignment between timekeeping and manufacturing systems. Enter and maintain production data in the time and attendance and manufacturing systems. Prepare shift summaries and maintain detailed spreadsheets to support operational planning. Track, document, and process payroll adjustments using supervisor-approved documentation. Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding timecards, pay, and adjustments. Partner with HR to ensure payroll processing ads to union contracts and benefits practices. Maintain accurate tracking and reconciliation of union dues payments. Conduct payroll audits to ensure accuracy,pliance, and process integrity. Support process improvement initiatives between operations and payroll to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Train and support team members on payroll processes and system usage. Generate and distribute payroll and operational reports as needed. Document internal payroll processes and maintain organized records. Perform additional administrative tasks such as label ing, static record reviews, and other assigned duties. Assist with basic accounting-related tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications:
1 year of experience with ADP eTime or similar payroll/timekeeping systems. 1 year of experience working in a union environment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, reconciliation, and reporting). Strong attention to detail with experience in spreadsheet-based data management and reconciliation. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies independently. Excellent written and verbalmunication skills with employees, supervisors, and cross-functional teams. Experience in a manufacturing environment and exposure to SAP (preferred).
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework in accounting, business, or a related field preferred. Ampcus is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
