Our operations complete heavy highway and civil projects throughout Texas. We pride ourselves in being a family-oriented organization with a goal of upholding the safety and health of our number one asset, our employees. Position Overview The Payroll Specialist will work with the HR and Accounting Teams to ensure deadlines are met for company payroll. The ideal candidate is familiar with payroll software and has a thorough understanding of data entry and filing. This role reports to the Payroll Supervisor and works alongside the Payroll Manager to support payroll operations across our Central Texas entities. Key Responsibilities Upload time daily, throughout the day Run Labor distribution reports & payroll register to look for errors weekly Walk employees through time app (Field App) and PTO app (CTeams) when issues occur or are new Look over PTO requests weekly to make sure they are entered correctly, balances are not negative, are approved/rejected by deadlines Collect Time approvals Fix Time in CE Enter Pay Adjustments Enter Retro Pay when needed Run Reports for different departments or Supervisors Provide any supporting documentation for audits Continually tracking and updating contact information (including phone numbers, emails, and addresses) for employees in the computer database Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications 1+ years' experience Associate's degree or equivalent training completed Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset. Must be positive, friendly and professional. Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting. Must demonstrate professional communication in reaching out to employees and managers for needed documents. Willingness to take on additional tasks and responsibilities as they arise. Exhibit excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize various tasks and complete them in a timely manner. Able to perform duties independently. Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas. Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required. Knowledge/Skill Requirements Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas) Experience with payroll software (CE or similar a plus) Comfort handling confidential employee information with discretion Strong data entry accuracy Working Conditions Full time, hourly. May require availability for overtime hours, nights and weekends as needed. Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements. Requires periodic participation and attendance at company events and meetings. Benefits This position is Full Time. The pay structure for this role will be based on competitive hourly rate determined by experience. This position will qualify for the employee benefit program.
