Primary Purpose:

Provide payroll for the district, including related reports and deposits. Work under close supervision to ensure accurate and timely preparation of payroll records by following prescribed procedures and regulations.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED equivalency Successful pass rate and demonstrated proficiency on district-administered clerical tests

Responsibilities:

Special Knowledge/Skills:

General payroll skills to include filing and bookkeeping Proficiency in use of 10-key calculator and office machines Data processing skills and computer knowledge Knowledge of wage and hour law, IRS guidelines, district policies Bilingual capabilities, preferred Ability to communicate positively with the public

Experience:

Three (3) years payroll experience, preferred

Misc Information:

Only the Superintendent of Schools and in some cases the Board of Trustees, has the hiring authority to employ applicants. The Human Resources Division is the only entity that can officially make an offer of employment to applicants.
