Payroll Specialist

Duties Process payroll using advanced payroll software such as Paylocity, ensuring accuracy in calculations and compliance with applicable laws Enter and verify data entries related to employee hours, wages, bonuses, deductions, and benefits administration Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices and perform account reconciliations regularly Prepare journal entries for payroll transactions, including debits & credits, ensuring proper documentation for audit purposes Manage benefits administration related to payroll, including tax withholdings and retirement contributions Conduct detailed analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly Maintain comprehensive records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and compliance documentation in accordance with governmental regulations Assist with non-profit accounting procedures when applicable and support accounts payable/receivable processes as needed Support governmental accounting requirements by preparing reports for audits and ensuring adherence to legal standards Qualifications Proven experience managing payroll using systems such as Paylocity, Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro Strong knowledge of payroll management principles combined with a solid understanding of accounting software like QuickBooks or Net Suite Familiarity with financial concepts including general ledger accounting, journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliation Experience working with HRIS platforms such as Paylocity, PeopleSoft, or Kronos is highly desirable Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy Knowledge of benefits administration processes and tax regulations related to payroll processing Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify discrepancies efficiently Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Basic understanding of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus Join us as a Payroll Specialist and become an integral part of our commitment to operational excellence.
