Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, self-driven, and highly organized Payroll Specialist to process payroll for multiple automotive dealership locations. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently while meeting strict payroll deadlines. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with Human Resources, management, and employees to ensure payroll information is accurate, properly documented, and processed timely. Previous automotive dealership payroll experience is a plus. Experience with UKG Ready is strongly preferred.
Review payroll information prior to processing to identify errors, discrepancies, or missing information.
Ensure new hires, terminations, transfers, and employee changes are accurately reflected in the payroll system before payroll is submitted.
Process and verify changes involving job positions, pay rates, compensation plans, benefits, deductions, direct deposits, and other payroll-related information.
Enter, maintain, and process employee and payroll information in UKG Ready.
Review timekeeping records for accuracy, including regular hours, overtime, absences, paid time off, and other types of leave.
Ensure commissions, bonuses, incentives, and other forms of compensation are accurately processed.
Review and verify payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other authorized deductions.
Maintain accurate and confidential payroll and employee records.
Research payroll discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution.
Process payroll corrections and, when necessary, issue or reissue physical checks or direct deposits.
Process final pay in accordance with company policy and applicable state requirements.
Respond professionally and timely to payroll-related questions from employees and management.
Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, reporting, and recordkeeping.
Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state wage and hour, payroll, and recordkeeping requirements.
Protect the confidentiality of employee, payroll, and company information at all times.
Perform other payroll and Human Resources-related duties as assigned.
