Hire Location:
San Antonio, TX We're looking for a Payroll Specialist I to process multi-state payroll, ensure compliance, handle employee inquiries, and support a team of 5.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and process multi-state weekly, bi-weekly, and special full-cycle payrolls Monitor electronic timekeeping systems for accuracy Review and approve employee portal changes on a third-party notification system Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate payroll transactions Review automated system outputs before submitting to the third-party vendor Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries Prepare and distribute Prevailing Wage reports with supporting documents Prepare payroll-related entries for accounting each payroll cycle Partner with HR on matters involving compensation, benefits, and disability payments Manage compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax legislation Distribute, record, and monitor agency tax notices and tracers with a third-party provider Prepare materials for internal or external audits as needed Maintain confidentiality of payroll information Other duties and special projects as assigned
