As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support our payroll operations and ensure accurate and timely processing for our employees across multiple locations. This role is critical in maintaining compliance, optimizing payroll processes, and providing excellent service to our team members in the fast-paced restaurant industry.
Job Overview:
Prepare and execute weekly, biweekly, off-cycle, and monthly payroll for employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Manage wage assignments, child support setups, deductions, and payments to courts, vendors, and payroll processing platforms such as Expert Pay. Ensure timely and accurate payroll distribution through direct deposit, paychecks, or electronic transfers. Compile and generate detailed reports on earnings, taxes, deductions, leave balances, disability, and nontaxable wages. Maintain strict payroll confidentiality and safeguard sensitive employee information. Assist the Payroll Manager in determining and approving calculations for federal and state income taxes, Social Security, unemployment, and workers' compensation payments. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations, staying updated on legislative changes and advising management on necessary actions. Maintain accurate leave balances, benefit payroll deductions, and garnishment records for employees. Respond to inquiries and special requests from government agencies regarding payroll-related matters. Job Qualifications High school diploma required; Associate degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school is preferred. 1-3 years of payroll processing experience in a multi-state or high-volume environment. Strong understanding of payroll procedures, processing, and payroll tax reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; experience with payroll systems is a plus. Must uphold strict confidentiality of employee and company payroll data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with employees and management. Strong ability to prioritize tasks, maintain accuracy, and work with precision in a deadline-driven environment.
