Details:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. Providing exceptional support to employees and leaders regarding payroll-related inquiries. Process payrolls for multi-state employees in accordance with established payroll schedules Review payroll data for accuracy, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, overtime calculations, and application payroll policies Audit payroll reports prior to transmission to ensure accuracy and completeness Process off-cycle payments, bonuses, commissions, and final pay in compliance with state requirements. Process employee status changes, new hires, terminations, direct deposit updates, and other payroll-related transactions. Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation. Assist with process improvement initiatives and payroll documentation. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or delegated by leadership.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience required; healthcare or hospice experience preferred Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and compliance requirements Experience with payroll systems (Paycom, ADP, UKG, Workday, or similar) Proficiency in payroll reporting and reconciliation Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Certification preferred but not required
