Full-time Overview/ Job Responsibilities:
Entarian is seeking a Payroll Analyst. The Payroll Analyst reports to the Payroll Lead and supports the payroll team in processing semi-monthly payroll, and handling payroll/accounting-related administrative and financial tasks. This position requires working onsite in Woodbridge, VA, five days per week during the first 90 days and three days per week thereafter. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support the full payroll cycle, including payroll processing, reconciliations, audits, and ad hoc reporting. Maintain an understanding of multi-state payroll compliance requirements, including payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and state-specific payroll requirements. Manage and audit payroll-related new hire records, employee changes, and terminations to ensure accurate payroll setup and final pay processing in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. Generate and analyze payroll reports to identify discrepancies, support compliance requirements, and improve payroll accuracy Review, audit, and resolve timesheet discrepancies, missing timesheets, payroll errors, and approval issues to ensure payroll accuracy. Review, research, and process timesheet corrections for employees and subcontractors. Investigate and resolve timesheet errors, missing timesheets, and subcontractor purchase order assignment discrepancies. Conduct audits of employee and payroll data to ensure accuracy and consistency between HR/Payroll and timekeeping systems. Assist with payroll tax-related activities, audits, and compliance reporting to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Manage the payroll inbox and provide timely, professional support by researching and resolving payroll-related inquiries and issues. Collaborate with employees, Human Resources, external vendors, government agencies, and internal departments to support payroll operations and ensure data accuracy. Process and maintain indirect project assignments related to training, paid leave, and other non-billable activities. Generate payroll reports, support compliance initiatives, and assist with internal and external audits. Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Payroll Manager, Controller, or Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This position is paid hourly (40 hours) at $26.44 an hour and requires working onsite in Woodbridge, VA, five days per week during the first 90 days and three days per week thereafter.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Accounting and payroll experience, preferably in a government contracting environment. Experience working with HR, payroll, and timekeeping systems, including Workday, ADP, Unanet, Deltek, and Costpoint. Knowledge of payroll regulations, payroll tax requirements, and multi-state compliance. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive, professional attitude with a strong customer service focus and the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. High School Diploma/GED Experience in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint) knowledgeable with word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, and database software.
