We are looking for a dedicated Bilingual Accounting & Payroll Assistant (Korean/English) to join our team. This is a highly stable, long-term part-time position (20 hours/week) designed for a professional who values a consistent schedule and a professional office environment. Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Financial Analysis Record financial transactions using double-entry bookkeeping. Read, analyze, and categorize bookkeeping documents and expenses accurately. Reconcile bank and credit card accounts. Conduct annual balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to ensure financial accuracy. Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial reporting. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses. Filing, Reporting & Tax Compliance Execute time-sensitive payroll for clients and process associated tax deposits. Prepare and submit payroll tax quarterly reports. Prepare and file state and city sales tax reports. Process annual forms including W-2s, 1099s, and associated summaries. Prepare journal entries and perform general ledger accounting related to payroll activities. Ensure all filings comply with governmental regulations and tax standards.Customer Service & Office Communication Confidentiality:
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information and payroll data. Respond to client inquiries (email/phone) in a timely and professional manner. Address client questions regarding their accounting and payroll processes. Provide consistent follow-up on client cases. Communicate any system or team errors promptly to management. Ensure all assigned tasks are completed within established deadlines. Requirements & Qualifications Education & Experience (One of the following): Currently enrolled Accounting students with a GPA of 3.3 or higher. Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Candidates without a degree but with 2+ years of recent direct experience in accounting or bookkeeping.Language Proficiency:
English:
Conversational fluency (70% - 100%).Korean:
Native or professional proficiency (80% - 100%). Priority will be given to native Korean speakers who also possess conversational English skills.Technical Skills & Core Competencies Software Proficiency:
Strong understanding of QuickBooks (full or partial management) or equivalent accounting platforms.Microsoft Excel:
Ability to use formulas (SUM, SUBTRACT, MULTIPLY, AVERAGE), perform account analysis, and create structured tables.Accounting Principles:
Knowledge of corporate accounting principles, including GAAP and governmental accounting standards.Technical Practices:
Experience with journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.Financial Concepts:
Familiarity with Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR), tax experience, and general ledger accounting.Data Accuracy:
High attention to detail in data entry, including proficient 10-key typing skills.Systems & Equipment:
Proficient in Windows OS, Microsoft Outlook, and office hardware (laptops, phones, fax, scanners).Your skills in action:

You have a "sharp eye" for catching small discrepancies in bank statements or tax forms before they become issues. You safeguard sensitive payroll and client data with the highest ethical standards. You provide a helpful and welcoming experience for our clients, proactively addressing their needs in both English and Korean. You feel at home with numbers, navigating formulas with ease and confidence. You bridge the gap between complex accounting terms and client understanding through clear, simple communication. You keep your workspace and digital files structured, seamlessly managing multiple client cycles without getting overwhelmed. You maintain deep focus during high-volume tasks, such as month-end closings, to ensure error-free results.
