In this role, you'll do more than just process payroll. You'll contribute to accounting operations, support budgeting and position control functions, and play a key role in maintaining compliance and accuracy. Key Responsibilities for the Payroll and Accounting Coordinator role: Process biweekly payroll, including timesheet review, direct deposits, manual checks, deductions, garnishments, and benefit payments. Maintain payroll records, tax filings, W-2 reporting, payroll reconciliations, and regulatory compliance. Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare journal entries to support accurate financial reporting. Maintain and update payroll system configurations, including leave plans, schedules, earnings codes, and reporting structures. Assist with budgeting, position control, payroll analysis, and resolution of employee payroll questions and discrepancies. Qualifications for the
Payroll and Accounting Coordinator:
2+ years of payroll experience with strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax reporting, reconciliations, and accounting principles. Union payroll experience highly desirable, including experience interpreting and applying collective bargaining agreements, union dues administration, contract pay provisions, and related payroll compliance requirements. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency with payroll systems, accounting software, and Excel.
