JOB DESCRIPTION
The Personal Banker is responsible for developing a positive rapport with the customer base, performing accurate and efficient financial transactions, and providing resolutions to customer requests and concerns. This role is also responsible for cross-selling, recommending and opening new accounts and additional products and services in an effort to grow and retain customer relationships. The Personal Banker will also assist with the mentoring and training of new and less experienced Tellers. The personal banker has a leadership role in supervising the operations in the branch.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Develops and maintains positive and collaborative relationships with new and existing customers.
- Performs quality control reviews and performs research regarding errors and discrepancies; makes corrections in conjunction with internal departments and conducts customer correspondence as appropriate.
- Oversees the day-to-day operational functions of the Tellers; assists with balancing, overall Teller functions, and problems that may arise with transactions.
- Assists with the training of new Tellers and encourages their development through effective mentoring and coaching.
- Processes wire transfers, loan advances, and stop payments, as needed
- Performs Teller and other branch support duties as needed.
- Supports Branch Management with marketing activities and events.
- Responds to all customer issues with professionalism and seamlessly directs complex issues to management staff for resolution.
- Promotes and cross-sells the Bank's products and services to new and existing clients, assuring proper service and referrals with the appropriate business partner.
- Opens and performs maintenance on accounts.
- Proactively expands knowledge and expertise on Bank products and services.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects Bank and customer confidentiality. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, and tact and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employees are required.
- Comprehensive mathematical skills are required.
- Effective coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Strong communication and organizational skills; detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience with computers, telephones, 10-key calculator, and other office machinery.
- Ability to make sound decisions; making on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions; weighing customer satisfaction issues with the Bank's exposure to loss or fraud and the ability to think through and rationalize decisions.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the Bank's needs, customer and employee goodwill, and the public image. Strong knowledge of retail banking regulations
- Positive, collaborative, and effective interpersonal skills.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of retail banking experience is preferred
