The Deposit Operations
CD & IRA
Specialist I. is responsible for providing administrative and customer support for Certificate of Deposit (CD) accounts and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA). This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in processing CD and IRA transactions while serving as a resource for branch employees and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support to branch employees on transactional CD and IRA processing issues. Balance internal general ledger accounts related to CD and IRA transactions. Investigate and resolve CD and IRA account-related discrepancies in a timely manner. Monitor and maintain accurate customer account information for CDs and IRAs. Collaborate with other departments to optimize CD and IRA processes and procedures. Review IRA documents (e.g., new account paperwork, contribution/distribution forms) for accuracy and completeness; follow up with branches regarding missing or incorrect information. Update customer records in banking systems; scan and maintain accurate electronic files. Respond to branch and customer inquiries by phone and email, providing guidance on basic CD and IRA information. Assist with the preparation and processing of IRA-related forms, statements, and regulatory notices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IRA rules and regulations regarding account opening, contributions, and distributions. Work with senior team members to maintain and update CD and IRA departmental procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and bank policies. Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned. Competencies Required Strong knowledge of Certificate of Deposit and Individual Retirement Account products, processes, and regulatory requirements. Understanding of banking regulations, compliance standards, and operational best practices. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. Solid knowledge of banking transactions and balancing principles. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to respond promptly and professionally to internal and external requests. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving work environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to navigate core banking and related software systems. Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and a high level of data accuracy. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively in a team environment. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications/Experience 2-3 years of banking or financial services experience, with direct exposure to deposit operations, Certificate of Deposit (CD) accounts and/or Individual Retirement Accounts. Formal Education & Certification High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in banking or financial services preferred. Work Status Full-Time Supervisory Responsibility None. Travel 0% - Negligible amount of travel expected.
