Job Description:
Siouxland Community Health Center has an opening for: Financial Counselor 1 - Full-Time position The schedule for this position is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:00am-5:00pm, Thursday 8:00am-noon, and Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Successful candidate must have solid experience & advanced knowledge of: Two years of Medical office and/or insurance experience preferred. Knowledge of our willingness to learn the State Family Planning Program, Medicaid, and Marketplace insurance. Bilingual Spanish preferred. Advanced computer and data entry skills. Knowledgeable in medical terminology. Previous experience in marketing/community outreach. Strong communication skills. Successful candidate must be able to perform primary functions of position: Provide enrollment assistance for uninsured adolescents and adult patients/residents of the service area to access subsidized, low cost, and free health insurance programs through the health insurance marketplace, State Family Planning Program and Medicaid. Provide structured patient education on health insurance coverage, engage in follow up conversations, and offer renewal assistance for enrolled individuals. Assist in the development and implementation of organizational outreach and enrollment initiatives. Distribute outreach materials to patients/residents of the service area, community members, and partner organizations and businesses to build health coverage option awareness. Attend community events to promote health coverage options and the outreach enrollment services available from SCHC.
