Role Description The Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham, MI. In this position, the Associate supports deal execution by building and analyzing financial models, preparing valuation analyses, and developing client-facing materials such as pitch books, management presentations, and information memoranda. The role involves conducting industry, company, and market research to support strategic recommendations and transaction positioning. Associates collaborate closely with senior bankers, clients, and other advisors to manage due diligence processes, coordinate data requests, and track key transaction workstreams. The position also includes monitoring transaction timelines, helping manage internal project communications, and contributing to business development initiatives. Qualifications Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including proficiency in building integrated financial models, performing valuation analyses (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions), and interpreting financial statements. Demonstrated experience in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or related fields, with familiarity in M&A processes, capital raising, and transaction structuring. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create clear, visually effective presentations and transaction materials for internal and external stakeholders. Excellent research and analytical capabilities, including the ability to synthesize industry, market, and company data from multiple sources into concise insights and recommendations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts clearly to diverse audiences and draft high-quality client deliverables. High level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in small deal teams, demonstrating initiative, professionalism, and sound judgment with clients and colleagues. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field; relevant finance and accounting coursework is mandatory.
