Location:
Remote (U.S.) A growing, nationally recognized wealth management advisory firm is seeking a Tax Director to lead tax compliance and planning for ultra-high-net-worth families and family office clients. This role oversees the full spectrum of client tax and financial deliverables, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a high-touch advisory experience. This individual will function as a senior leader within the family office platform, coordinating across tax, investment, accounting, estate planning, and advisory teams to deliver fully integrated solutions aligned with client goals. Responsibilities Review and sign individual, trust, estate, gift, partnership, and corporate tax returns, including multistate filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission Lead quarterly and year-end tax projections and provide proactive planning guidance to clients Serve as the primary tax lead for assigned family office relationships, overseeing all related tax and planning activities Coordinate with accounting and investment teams to monitor client liquidity needs and ensure sufficient funding availability Review quarterly financial reporting packages for completeness and accuracy of client financial activity Partner with internal advisory, investment, and planning teams to prepare materials for quarterly family meetings Participate in client meetings (virtual and in-person) as a senior tax advisor Mentor and develop junior tax and family office professionals Manage complex, multi-entity client relationships with a high degree of autonomy Support business development efforts and onboarding of new clients Contribute to broader family office services including entity structuring, estate planning coordination, and philanthropic planning Support ongoing innovation and process improvements across the platform Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required; Master's in Taxation preferred 10+ years of public accounting or family office tax experience serving high-net-worth clients Strong experience reviewing and managing complex tax returns at a senior manager or leadership level Active CPA required (CFP preferred) Strong communication, client relationship, and project management skills Ability to independently manage complex, multi-entity client relationships and competing priorities
