Job Description
The Finance Summer Intern are integrated within ABS business operations and will experience various aspects of financial processes, analytical exercises, and/or transaction processing and recording. Finance interns will work with a designated advisor to learn and develop skills relating to ABS core business functions while also assisting ABS with key deliverables. It is expected that finance interns will be assigned multiple projects for their respective department throughout the course of their internship. Interns will work at the ABS corporate headquarters in Spring, TX.
What You Will Do:
Provide financial support in the form of analysis assignments typically involving a major project, such as Global Billing or several smaller, fewer complex projects. Projects will vary in their complexity and difficulty. Assist with financial transaction processing, analysis, and verification of proper financial procedures (under supervision). Communicate the status of the current workload to all appropriate members of the team to ensure that the needs of the clients will be met. Propose advice to billers within Finance and other international billing locations. Propose new approaches to problems encountered and make recommendations for changes in methods. Manage bank accounts to report balances and perform transfers Perform and document application control testing Assist in the development of business performance metrics including the development and implementation of an ongoing business performance monitoring program, and the periodic analysis of operating results to determine causes, trends, etc. Assist with the writing and presentation of procedures. Collaborate with other locations such as credit control and collections, GL team, and various global billing offices. Assist with data collection efforts for data quality improvement, in both existing and new data streams to support overall business goals Other duties as assigned.What You Will Need:
Must be a full-time student currently enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a BBA, BS, or MS with at least 60 credit hours completed, preferably in Accounting or Finance. Preferably enrolled at Texas A&M University, University of Houston, or Prairie View A&M University Must reside in reasonable daily commute distance from Spring, Texas. Minimum GPA of 2.75 or higher preferred. Available to complete a full summer internship from May-August 2026. Results-oriented approach with keen attention to quality and accuracy. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of team members. Ability to learn the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.Reporting Relationships:
This role will report to a director of ABS' Finance Services Group and has no direct reports.Notice:
