As a Financial Aid Advisor, you'll do more than process paperwork—you'll guide students and families through one of the most important decisions of their educational journey with clarity, care, and confidence. What You'll Do As a Financial Aid Advisor, you will serve as a trusted resource for students and families by: Guiding students through the financial aid process, from FAFSA completion to award packaging Reviewing and analyzing financial aid applications to determine eligibility for federal, state, and institutional aid Awarding and adjusting aid packages in compliance with all applicable regulations and policies Counseling students and families through individual appointments, workshops, phone calls, email, and virtual tools Managing verification files, resolving discrepancies, and submitting required corrections Evaluating special and unusual circumstances with sound judgment and empathy Collaborating across departments to support enrollment, retention, and student satisfaction Presenting at orientations, information sessions, and student forums Supporting exit counseling for students who withdraw or graduate Contributing to team initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and university events Your work ensures students have access to the resources they need—and the confidence to move forward. Qualifications and Experience 2-3 years of experience working directly with students and families in Financial Aid Working knowledge of Title IV financial aid regulations Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required Skills and Strengths Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Clear, compassionate communication—written and verbal Comfort working with data, calculations, and compliance requirements Ability to exercise sound judgment in nuanced or sensitive situations A service-oriented mindset with a genuine desire to help others succeed Collaborative, accountable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Why Joyce University At Joyce University, our culture is built on integrity, service, learning, and connection.
