out of 5 stars Position Summary Guided by Ogden-Weber Technical College's values of Community, Learning, and Integrity, the Financial Aid Advisor I serves as a primary point of contact for current and prospective students seeking financial aid assistance. The Advisor provides front-office coverage and delivers timely, professional responses to inquiries across multiple communication channels while counseling students on financial aid options, available resources, and application processes. The Financial Aid Advisor I also supports the Financial Aid Office in reviewing and awarding grants and scholarships. In all duties, the role performs work in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies, regulations, and guidelines. This position reports to the Financial Aid Manager. Essential Functions Provide professional, respectful, and service-oriented support in all interactions. Respond to phone calls, voicemails, and emails promptly and professionally to ensure timely support and clear communication. Meet with prospective and current students to provide guidance on all aspects of eligibility requirements for federal financial aid and scholarship programs. Review, package, and track financial aid and scholarship awards accurately while ensuring strict compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Advise and assist students in the full financial aid process from application through completion. Work with the VA Counselor on veterans' eligibility determination and processes. Exchange student eligibility and enrollment information with the Department of Education and Veterans Administration for aid recipients. Maintain accurate and complete records related to Federal Student Aid, Veterans education benefits, and scholarships. Maintain current knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, and procedures governing Federal Student Aid and Veterans resources and benefits. Reduce institutional risk and ensure responsible stewardship of funds by complying with financial, regulatory, and ethical requirements. The incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Associate degree or relevant experience in student services, workforce or community-based support roles, funding support, finance, accounting, education administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One (1) year of customer service experience. Ability to develop effective, collaborative relationships. Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize resources and establish priorities. Demonstrated customer service skills in highly interactive, student-focused service environments. Ability to critically analyze processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Ability to work under pressure while meeting high expectations and deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications. Spanish-speaking proficiency is desirable.Physical Requirements:
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform most work; however, there will be some walking; standing; bending; reaching; and carrying light items. Special physical demands are not required for the position. Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lit, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. Additional InformationWORKING HOURS
Assigned schedule between 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Fridays. Scheduled up to 29 hours per week. Hours are subject to change based on departmental needs. Work will be performed on site at the main campus.CONDITIONAL OFFER
