Job Description

The Patient Financial Navigator provides an essential service in assisting patients and their families with financial matters related to their healthcare. The role involves guiding patients through the complexities of medical billing, insurance navigation, financial aid, and available hospital and community resources to ensure they receive the care they need while managing their financial responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, financial, social work, or related field preferred, work experience may be substituted for education. Washington State Healthcare Authority Patient Navigation Certification within one (1) month of assuming role.
Experience/ Knowledge/ Skills/ Attributes:
Previous experience in healthcare billing, insurance, financial counseling or related field preferred. Understanding of medical billing processes, insurance policies, and financial assistance programs. Familiarity with hospital and community resources for financial aid. Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and empathetic manner. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency in relevant software, including electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Compassionate, patient-focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Salary:
$25.42-$35.58/hour DOE Benefits include the following for full-time and part-time employees: Medical, Dental and Vision, 414(h) plan Mandated Retirement Contribution, 414(h) Employer Mandated Pension Contributions part time & full time employees eligible after 6 months of service & 520 hours, Optional 457 (b) retirement contributions, Employer paid life insurance, Employer paid long term disability, EAP, PTO accrual (0.032695/hr) increasing after first year, Paid Sick Leave PSL accrual (0.025/hr worked Extended Illness Insurance accrual (0.031/hr) and Paid Holidays.
