Summary:
The Pricing Analyst is responsible for review of sales and customer request, researching pricing data, analyzing each pricing scenario as presented, working directly with sales and upper management, and proposing and generating ocean liner quotes and contracts. Collaborates with Sales, Truck Ops, and Brokerage in order to make the most cost effective pricing decisions to benefit the company and customer.Essential Functions:
Quotes profitable and competitive rates. Reviews cost and other marketing data to develop rate offerings Negotiates and establishes rates on a case by case basis based on review and analyzation Collaborates with Truck Ops and Brokerage in order to make Works with Sales team as well as upper management as needed Reviews and revises tariffs and contracts according to Surface Transportation Board (STB) and Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) regulation. Communicates efficiently effectively with all TB departments as needed Retrieves and analyzes sales and volume reports Reviews and resolves tariff/contract dispute Handles additional responsibilities as requested by Pricing Manager Upholds company policies Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
2-3 years' experience in the ocean transportation market. Bachelor's degree preferred, work experience my substitute for education. Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements, specifically those of the Federal Maritime Commission, the Surface Transportation Board and the Code of Federal Regulation. Excellent PC skills including Word, Access and Excel. Proficient relational database skills. Good computer skills, AS400 experience preferred. Effective interpersonal skills; ability to work with all levels of the company. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to adjust to ever-changing demands. Ability to produce accurate work in a time sensitive environment. Motivated self-starter with demonstrated initiative. Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
