The Area Pricing Manager is integral to Applied Industrial Technologies' strategy and profit maximization efforts. This position drives profitability by executing local pricing strategies and supporting sales associates. The role leverages analytics, systems expertise, and cross-functional partnership to ensure pricing is competitive, accurate, and aligned with corporate objectives. Scope of Responsibility Collaborate with sales management to implement and maintain area-specific pricing strategies aligned with organizational goals and market conditions.
Align local practices with corporate standards and objectives.
Implement, maintain and monitor customer price records to ensure accuracy, profitability and efficiency.
Educate and support sales associates with the goal to improve gross profit and reduce price overrides.
Monitor the effectiveness of pricing programs and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Present analysis on pricing performance to the sales team.
Key Job Duties Partner with stakeholders during RFQ/RFP processes to develop local pricing strategies.
Execute customer price updates in SAP as requested by the sales team.
Serve as liaison between the chargeback department and sales associates, providing support and obtaining necessary pricing information.
Pro-actively collaborate with sales team to reduce overrides while protecting and improving gross margin.
Apply critical thinking to resolve pricing issues in collaboration with sales team.
Assist in special projects as assigned.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives for pricing processes.
Education and Experience Requirements
Solid fundamental understanding of pricing structures and techniques.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
