The Pricing Analyst will provide financial analysis, pricing support, budget development, and reporting that enable strategic, data-driven decision making across the firm's practice groups. Working closely with attorneys, practice group leaders, and business professionals, this role helps develop pricing approaches that balance client value with firm economics. This is a hands-on role with real-time exposure to the firm's most significant clients and matters — including client rate reviews and negotiations, alternative fee arrangements, and RFP responses. The ideal candidate is client-service focused, detail-oriented, and eager to build expertise in legal pricing, matter economics, and profitability analysis. This is an opportunity to help build a high-visibility function from the ground up, with significant room for growth and ownership.
What You'll Do:
Support pricing, budgeting, and financial analysis across new and active matters, including hourly, discounted, and alternative fee arrangements. Perform detailed financial analysis to support the development of rates, fee estimates, budgets, and pricing alternatives in response to client requests and RFPs. Support the annual client rate-setting and rate review process, including analysis, recommendations, and stakeholder coordination. Conduct post-matter financial analysis, using historical data to inform the pricing of future matters and improve financial performance. Develop a strong understanding of the firm's practice groups, clients, and matter economics to support strategic planning and forecasting. Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Practice Management, Business Development, Billing, and Intake to support accurate execution of pricing decisions. Contribute to annual client rate reviews, ad hoc analysis, and technology adoption efforts. Conduct detailed post matter financial analysis with the aim of utilizing historical matter data and related insight to assist in the pricing of future matters and improving financial performance Identify and implement process improvements, including opportunities to automate and scale reporting and analysis. Contribute to the adoption of AI-enabled and advanced analytics tools. Develop and maintain project trackers and budget repositories, ensuring information is current and accurate to support oversight and reporting. The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday, having the ability to transport 25 pounds and being able to operate a computer and other business equipment found in the office.

About You:
Experience, Education, and Training:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. Minimum of two years of experience in financial analysis, pricing, budgeting, or a related analytical role; law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred. Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling, with the ability to manipulate large data sets and model outcome scenarios. Familiarity with legal pricing structures — rates, discount arrangements, budgeting matters, staffing models, and alternative fee arrangements — is a plus. Experience with Power BI, SQL, Aderant, or similar reporting and law firm financial systems preferred. Interest in and experience with professional use of AI tools strongly preferred.
