Job Description
We are looking for a Sales Pricing Data Analyst to strengthen commercial decision-making through advanced analysis of pricing, customer, and channel performance. This position is based in York area and offers a hybrid role. The Pricing Data Analyst will turn complex business data into practical recommendations that help protect revenue, improve margins, and uncover growth opportunities. The role works closely with sales and cross-functional leaders to spot emerging risks early, evaluate performance trends, and support forecasting, planning, and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Build and track pricing and commercial performance measures such as margin outcomes, price realization, sales mix, volume movement, and customer-level profitability.
- Perform detailed revenue and margin analysis to explain business results and highlight the factors influencing change across products, customers, and channels.
- Review discount activity, pricing adherence, promotions, and leakage patterns to identify improvement opportunities across the sales organization.
- Create forward-looking indicators that flag attrition risk, weakening demand, shrinking order activity, and other signals that may require commercial action.
- Assess customer and channel behavior, including acquisition, retention, order cadence, and average purchase trends, to uncover both risks and areas for expansion.
- Produce scorecards and dashboards for e-commerce, national accounts, and other key segments, with reporting on sales, conversion, profitability, service levels, and assortment performance.
- Manage rebate and allowance reporting, validate deductions against customer agreements, and coordinate with internal partners to investigate discrepancies and resolve root causes.
- Develop forecasts by customer, product group, and channel, while supporting budgeting, annual planning, and demand-related analysis through variance review and scenario modeling.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science, Economics, or a related discipline; advanced education is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in pricing analysis, sales analytics, or commercial insights
- Demonstrated skill in predictive analysis, sales reporting, and translating data into recommendations for business leaders.
- Hands-on experience with analytics and visualization tools such as Python, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable platforms.
- Strong knowledge of pricing methods, forecasting practices, customer segmentation, and profitability analysis.
- Ability to build dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reports with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
- Experience working in manufacturing, consumer products, or e-commerce environments is preferred.
