Position Overview The Director of Proposal Pricing will lead and manage the pricing and cost strategy for proposals across all business sectors, ensuring that bids are competitive, compliant, and profitable. This role involves overseeing the preparation of cost models, working closely with proposal managers, Business Development teams, and senior leadership to ensure alignment with business goals, and ensuring that proposals meet customers' needs and contractual requirements. Must have a deep understanding of government procurement processes, pricing methodologies, cost accounting standards, and the specific needs of government contracts, all while maintaining a focus on driving profitable growth for the company. Responsibilities Supervise a team of pricing analysts, providing guidance, training, and development to ensure high-quality work and professional growth. Develop and implement pricing strategies to support competitive bids and proposals, ensuring that pricing aligns with company objectives while maintaining profitability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing proposals that are both competitive and compliant with contractual and regulatory requirements. Develop detailed cost models for various proposals, considering labor, material, overhead, and other direct and indirect costs. Conduct market research and analysis to ensure pricing is competitive and aligns with industry standards and customer expectations. Review and approve proposal pricing, ensuring all pricing assumptions are validated, and risks are assessed. Ensure proposals are compliant with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines, company policies and regulations, and that any pricing risks are identified and mitigated. Work closely with the proposal manager to ensure pricing is integrated into the overall proposal narrative and strategy. Recommend and implement best practices and process improvements in pricing methodology proposal development. Required Experience/Qualifications Bachelor's degree required - Business, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred 10+ years of experience in pricing, cost analysis, or proposal development Strong knowledge of pricing strategies, cost modeling, and financial analysis. Experience with government contracting, or in an industry that regularly submits formal proposals and bids. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in pricing and advanced Excel skills. Preferred Experience/Qualifications 3+years supervisory experience. In-depth knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) or similar regulations (for government contracting). Physical Demands The role is primarily sedentary and involves working in an office environment. Limited physical exertion is required.
