Summary The Asset Management Protection Coordinator provides administrative and management support work in the control of all tangible capital assets owned by the Public Health Trust (PHT). Responsible for acquisition accountability, transfer, and disposition of all capital assets used in PHT departments. Work involves the maintenance of an inventory control system, using electronic data processing, audit, and enforcement. Responsibilities Issues bar coded property identification and provide for permanent marking when received. Establishes property control master record containing purchase order number, date, cost, manufacturer, location, physical condition on receipt, and similar information. Issues procedural directives to all agencies indicating the authorized care, use and custody of physical property; receives and records reports of damage and loss of PHT property. Determines which items of PHT property should be declared surplus; recommends transfer of property from one division to another, renovation or disposal through appropriate procedures. Makes arrangements for County/public auction of surplus property in accordance with PHT regulations; reviews bids, accepts and recommends final sale by the County. Provides for periodic physical inventory and verification of property, maintains title records indicating location and current license tag number for all PHT vehicles. Performs related work as required. Demonstrates considerable knowledge of capital assets inventory methods and procedures. Effectively utilizes knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures as they apply to maintaining property records. Maintains knowledge of current state statutes and local ordinances governing the control of tangible capital assets. Demonstrates knowledge of basic budgetary procedures as applied to the purchase of capital items. Plans, supervises and works with departmental staff in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale. Exercises sound judgment and considerable resourcefulness in applying and interpreting policies and procedures. Develops effective work techniques and procedures. Expresses ideas clearly, concisely and persuasively, both orally and in writing Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with various hospital employees, officials and the general public. Interfaces with all departments and outside agencies in a courteous and professional manner. Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience Generally, requires 3 to 5 years of related experience. Education Bachelor's degree in related field is required. Degree can be substituted by 7 years of direct experience in Asset Management Skill Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications. Credentials Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
