JOB PURPOSE
To ensure the safety, code compliance, and quality of construction and development in the Village through thorough and comprehensive review of civit engineering plans and specifications to ensure strict adherence to applicabie building codes, zoning ordinances, engineering standards, and environmental regulations. This role also provides professionai, customer-focused support to developers, contractors, and the pubiic, coiiaborates with internai departments and promotes sustainabie buiiding practices to support the Village's long-term environmental and deveiopment goais.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
« Review architectural and civil engineering plans for commerciai and multi-famiiy residential for compliance with iocal ordinances, zoning regulations, and engineering standards; Conducts the plan review and inspections of site improvements for private deveiopment and associated work in the right-of-way (ROW) in conjunction with planning, zoning, building and engineering processes; Coordinate plan review processes with internal departments (e.g. Fire, Planning, and Buiiding); e Provide clear written and verbal feedback to applicants, design professionals, and contractors regarding code compliance, deficiencies, and necessary revisions; 639394 ® Manage and administer ROW utility permit program; Review and inspect private stormwater management; » Assist in the issuance of permits by verifying plan compliance and reviewing required documentation; Coordinates directly with property owners to implement solutions under the Residential Yard Drainage Assistance Program; Perform site visits for new residential buildings or additions, inciuding general site grading, drainage, and field inspections to verify compliance and assess complex design conditions; Coordinate with Metropolitan Water Reclamation District for permits and final inspections; ® Reviewing deveiopment pians through the Prefiminary P!an Review (PPR) and Site Pian review process; Uses the Village's permit and inspection tracking software to document permits, inspections and updates as needed; Participate in pre-submitta! and pre-construction meetings, as necessary; Ensure compliance with State and County regulations; Performs other work-related duties, as assigned
