  • Full-time About the Role We're hiring a Senior Field Technician with strong hands-on handyman skills to support a landmark public-private initiative focused on making homes across Indiana safer, more energy-efficient, and better equipped for the future. This is a role for a true generalist craftsperson
  • someone who can assess a home, manage subcontractors, and roll up their sleeves to complete skilled work themselves whenever a project calls for it.
You'll be on the front lines: visiting homes, walking properties, working alongside energy assessors, managing subcontractors, performing hands-on repairs and improvements, and coordinating project planning with our internal teams and homeowners. This is a high-growth opportunity for a skilled, versatile worker who wants real operational experience in a fast-paced environment. You'll work directly with our team of project leads, contractors, and energy experts while building the foundational skills of site management, quality control, customer service, and operational execution
  • and putting your craftsmanship to work every day. What You'll Do
  • Assess homes across eastern Indiana for potential renovation projects (2-3 hour travel radius expected)
  • Document property conditions, capture required measurements and photos, and flag critical site issues (e.g., HVAC, asbestos, structural access)
  • Perform a wide range of skilled handyman work as needed on each project, including but not limited to: air sealing and insulation, appliance installation, drywall patching and painting, minor carpentry, basic plumbing and electrical knowledge, weatherization, and general repairs
  • Step in to complete or correct work directly when a job needs it, rather than waiting on a subcontractor
  • Closely manage and collaborate with subcontractors and stakeholders to define accurate scopes of work
  • Create and maintain detailed project checklists and reporting templates
  • Serve as a key point of contact with residents
  • ensuring clear communication, professionalism, and care
  • Assist with job scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and work verification
  • Track, escalate, and solve field-level issues with the senior superintendent team Who You Are
  • An experienced, skilled handyman who can confidently tackle a broad mix of trades and tasks
  • and takes pride in doing the work right
  • Versatile and resourceful
  • comfortable picking up unfamiliar tasks and figuring out what a project needs
  • Hands-on by nature: you'd rather be in the field contributing than simply overseeing
  • Professionally minded with an interest in construction and project supervision
  • Background in one or more of the following preferred, but not required: construction, the skilled trades, customer service, construction management, or operations
  • Strong communicator
  • written, verbal, and interpersonal. You can handle a call with a subcontractor and a conversation with a senior homeowner to resolve an issue in the same hour
  • Highly organized with strong task management skills
  • Microsoft Office and checklists are second nature
  • Confident using technology and willing to learn new systems (we use FTQ360)
  • Eager to travel, contribute, and stay hands-on in the field
