Job Summary - Why you'll love this position Missouri Capitol Police is the primary full-service law enforcement agency for the 72-acre state office building campus known as the Capitol Complex and for state office buildings in Cole County. Capitol Police provide services to over 18,000 state employees and numerous visitors throughout the year. Under the direction of the Missouri Capitol Police Chief, the part-time Property Control Technician will assist the Support Services Lieutenant in overseeing the safe storage of property and evidence and in maintaining evidence integrity. The Technician will also assist with the MCP inventory and equipment. Responsibilities - What you'll do

Job Responsibilities:

Receive, store, release, and maintain the security and records for property and physical evidence taken into custody by MCP. Follow established evidence procedures; maintain an accurate account and chain of custody for seized property and evidence. Prepare, monitor, and forward evidence to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratories. Prepare and release property to officers for investigation and court testimony; conduct audits and inventory of assigned evidence and the property room. Maintain an accurate account of the disposition of property and evidence. Purge and dispose of evidence or property in accordance with State and local rules governing property disposition; return property to the appropriate owner or prepare it for destruction upon case clearance. Manage MCP inventory, issue equipment, and conduct annual audits of assigned uniforms, equipment, and other fixed assets. Use a variety of computer software. Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Prior experience in law enforcement agency operations preferred. Applicants will undergo a comprehensive background investigation by the Missouri Capitol Police, including employment and criminal history.
