Job Description

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISIONS JUNE 26TH AT 3PM
The Village of Addyston is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as Property Maintenance Code Enforcer. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the safety, appearance, and quality of life within the community through the enforcement of the Village's zoning, property maintenance, and building regulations. Position Overview The Property Maintenance Code Enforcer is appointed by the Mayor with the approval of Village Council and is responsible for administering and enforcing applicable Village codes, ordinances, and regulations. The successful candidate will work independently while maintaining professional interactions with residents, property owners, contractors, business owners, Village officials, and other governmental agencies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review applications and issue building permits in accordance with Village regulations. Conduct inspections related to building permits and ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances. Issue zoning permits and verify compliance with Village zoning regulations. Coordinate with and implement decisions of the Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning Commission regarding approved variances and zoning matters. Perform follow-up inspections to ensure correction of violations and ongoing compliance with Village zoning and property maintenance codes. Investigate complaints regarding property maintenance, nuisance conditions, zoning violations, and related concerns. Maintain accurate records of inspections, permits, violations, notices, and enforcement actions. Communicate code requirements and compliance expectations to residents, contractors, and property owners. Prepare and submit monthly activity reports to the Mayor and Village Council. Attend Village Council meetings on a quarterly basis and provide updates regarding enforcement activities. Perform other related duties as necessary to support the enforcement of Village codes and ordinances. Qualifications Knowledge of building, zoning, and property maintenance codes preferred. Experience in code enforcement, building inspection, construction, zoning administration, property management, or a related field preferred. Ability to interpret and apply municipal ordinances, regulations, and policies. Strong organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in enforcement matters. Compensation No benefits are provided with this position. Compensation is hourly and paid through monthly invoicing as outlined in the annual contract. Flexible schedule based on workload and inspection needs.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
