Job Description
As the Clerk I, you will provide a wide range of customer support to property owners, property tax agents, and others seeking information. We will count on you to assist with Assessor applications and processes, and to resolve conflicts related to property ownership and assessment. You will gain knowledge of multiple Assessor processes and programs across several divisions and how the programs relate to the Recorder's and Treasurer's Offices.

Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZWe RequireTwo years of clerical experience in an office environmentHigh School diploma or GEDAn equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basisWe Also ValueProficient in multitasking and experienced working in a fast-paced environmentExperience handling the intake of data, including receiving and processing documentsExperience working with real estate, legal descriptions, title research, and permit processingProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and 6i OnBaseJob ContributionsEnsure prompt, customer-focused, and accurate customer services to property owners, property owner representatives, and other citizens at the Assessor's front counter by answering questions related to property ownership, property maps, and records assessmentExplain Assessor processes, help with applications for valuation relief programs, resolve problems, etc.
Address the above in-person, over the phone, via email, and respond to mailSupport accurate Assessor records by data entry of rental registrations, mailing address changes, situs addresses, Legal Class Verification, application information processing, and tax clearances for mobile homes by accessing MVD and Treasurer's sites to ascertain meeting requirementsSupport other areas by assisting with notice of claims, ownership, and mobile homes processesPerform other special projects as needed, such as data entry, quality control, mail distribution, or handling time-sensitive material and confidential informationWorking ConditionsHybrid schedule in an office environmentSelection ProcedureConsideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applicationsCandidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profileMust pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
