//www.pandai.com/company_history Role Description The Mineral Interest Appraiser is a full-time, on-site position based in Amarillo, TX. This role is responsible for appraising oil and gas mineral interests for ad valorem tax purposes across the Texas Panhandle and other assigned areas. Daily responsibilities include analyzing oil and gas production data, reviewing well and lease information, researching ownership and mineral interests, and preparing income-based valuations using discounted cash flow (DCF) models. The appraiser will evaluate production trends, commodity prices, operating expenses, economic life, and other factors that influence the value of mineral interests. The position involves working with oil and gas records from sources such as the Texas Railroad Commission, county appraisal districts, and other industry data providers. Appraisers will maintain accurate valuation records, research property changes, and respond to questions from appraisal districts, property owners, and other clients regarding mineral valuations. The Mineral Interest Appraiser will collaborate with other members of the appraisal team, meet project deadlines, and support the annual property tax appraisal process. The role also offers opportunities to develop expertise in oil and gas valuation, appraisal methodology, and related energy assets. Qualifications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret production data, financial information, and industry trends. Familiarity with oil and gas operations, mineral interests, or energy-related valuation is preferred but not required. Experience in property appraisal, finance, economics, accounting, engineering, geology, or a related field is preferred but not required. Understanding of income-based valuation methods, discounted cash flow analysis, or financial modeling is a plus. Ability to research and interpret property records, production data, and other technical information. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard office applications. Experience with ComboCurve, appraisal software, databases, or other analytical tools is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain valuation methods and findings clearly. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to accurate and defensible appraisals. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a team environment. Willingness to learn oil and gas appraisal methodologies, industry terminology, and applicable property tax regulations. Ability to work on-site in Amarillo, TX, with local travel as needed. Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business, accounting, engineering, geology, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant state appraisal license or certification, or eligibility to obtain one is required. Compensation & Benefits Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
