Regulatory Lead - Color Cosmetics Job Description This role serves as the primary regulatory lead for a color cosmetics operation, ensuring full compliance with MoCRA and applicable state regulations. The Regulatory Lead uses a strong foundation in cosmetic chemistry to evaluate raw ingredients, oversee regulatory documentation, and act as the main point of contact for customers and external partners. This position is onsite in Torrance and offers the opportunity to work closely with a smaller cosmetic team while shaping and maintaining the company's regulatory standards. Responsibilities Lead regulatory activities for color cosmetics products, ensuring ongoing compliance with MoCRA and relevant state regulations. Serve as the primary regulatory face of the company, acting as the main interface for customers, regulatory bodies, and external partners. Review and analyze raw ingredients for cosmetic formulations to confirm they meet regulatory and safety requirements. Qualify products and processes under MoCRA and across applicable states to ensure continuous regulatory adherence. Manage, interpret, and analyze data within the Ctech system to support regulatory filings, documentation, and compliance reporting. Coordinate and maintain regulatory documentation and records for cosmetic products, including ingredient information and compliance certifications. Collaborate with cosmetic chemistry and product development teams to ensure new and existing products meet regulatory standards. Provide regulatory guidance and updates to internal stakeholders regarding MoCRA requirements and other relevant cosmetic regulations. Monitor regulatory changes in the cosmetics industry and recommend updates to internal processes to maintain compliance. Support customer inquiries related to regulatory compliance, product information, and ingredient documentation. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in color cosmetic chemistry, with 1+ years preferred. Demonstrated regulatory experience in the cosmetics industry. Strong knowledge and understanding of MoCRA, including its application to cosmetic products and ingredients. Ability to understand and evaluate raw cosmetic ingredients from a chemistry and regulatory perspective. Experience working as a regulatory lead or in a similar regulatory-focused role within cosmetics. Proficiency using Ctech or similar systems for data analysis and regulatory documentation management. Strong analytical skills to interpret regulatory requirements and analyze data from Ctech and other sources. Excellent communication skills to serve as the primary interface for customers and external stakeholders. Detail-oriented approach to managing regulatory records, documentation, and compliance processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelors in chemistry, particularly cosmetic chemistry, is highly beneficial. Experience working with color cosmetics formulations and product development teams. Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with customers and regulatory contacts. Comfort working in a dynamic environment with a smaller cosmetic team. Strong organizational skills to handle multiple regulatory projects and deadlines. Work Environment This is an onsite role based in Torrance, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will join a smaller cosmetic team, offering a close-knit, collaborative environment with direct interaction across functions. The work involves regular use of the Ctech system and other tools to manage regulatory data and documentation. The setting is focused on color cosmetics, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, ingredient analysis, and customer-facing communication. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
