If you have a chemistry background and can read legislation as easily as a lab report, this is a chance to be the person who keeps products registered, labeled, and market-ready as the business grows into new formulations and claims. This role sits on the product development team but centers on regulatory ownership: managing registrations, keeping labeling and safety documentation current, staying ahead of changing state and federal rules, and making sure compliance is built into product decisions from the start. It's a great fit for someone detail-driven who likes owning a process end to end.

Responsibilities:

Own and manage EPA product registrations, renewals, amendments, and state-level registrations Author, review, and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and GHS-compliant labels across the product line, keeping classifications current as formulations change Maintain ingredient disclosure compliance under state right-to-know and consumer disclosure laws (such as California SB 258 and Proposition 65), including certificates of compliance Monitor state VOC limits (such as CARB) and other formulation-specific restrictions, confirming products remain compliant before launch Review and substantiate product marketing claims against EPA and FTC requirements in partnership with marketing Track federal and state legislative and regulatory changes and translate them into clear action items for the team Partner with outside regulatory counsel, consultants, and test labs on registrations, filings, and audits Build and maintain a compliance calendar and tracker across states and sales channels Support formulation development and testing alongside the product development team Coordinate cross-functionally with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Marketing to build regulatory requirements into product and packaging decisions early Flag regulatory risks and bottlenecks early and drive them to resolution

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Biochemistry, or a related field, with a chemistry foundation preferred 2-4+ years of regulatory affairs experience, ideally with EPA-registered products or household or consumer chemical products Working knowledge of EPA registration processes and SDS/GHS authoring (OSHA HazCom) Familiarity with California SB 258, Proposition 65, and state VOC regulations a strong plus Comfortable reading, interpreting, and tracking legislation and regulatory guidance Working knowledge of chemistry fundamentals; hands-on lab exposure preferred but not required Experience working with outside regulatory counsel, consultants, or testing labs Strong attention to detail and process management skills Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple registrations and projects at once Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills Proficiency with project management tools (ClickUp a plus) and
