- Part-time, Full-time HR & Risk Specialist Ashley & Vance Engineering seeks an enthusiastic professional to join our team in San Luis Obispo as an HR/Risk Generalist/Specialist.

Our perfect candidate has at least three years of experience in an HR or Compliance role with knowledge of employment law, policy development, benefits, compliance matters, and conflict resolution. Role Overview & Impact Manage the hiring process from end-to-end, including advertising open roles, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews to build a high-quality team. Oversee the successful integration of new hires and manage the ongoing execution of benefits administration and payroll processes. Organize and maintain secure personnel records within the HRIS to ensure data accuracy, privacy, and seamless reporting. Maintain and update the Employee Handbook to ensure all standard policies, procedures, and workplace practices remain current and legally compliant. Develop and direct internal HR training to ensure staff alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Evaluate client contracts, vendor agreements, and lease agreements for potential risks and alignment with internal policies, identifying deviations from company standards and supporting Principals in the negotiation and administration of contract terms. Coordinate the review, routing, tracking, and administration of client contracts, subconsultant agreements, NDAs, and vendor agreements to support timely execution and organizational consistency. Maintain contract templates, insurance documentation, and risk management tracking systems while identifying elevated risk provisions, insurance requirements, indemnity obligations, and other non-standard terms for leadership review. Coordinate with Principals, insurance brokers, and outside legal counsel regarding contractual requirements, claims-related matters, certificates of insurance, and risk management documentation.
