Job Description

Vaco is hiring for a Risk Analyst opportunity in Cincinnati OH within the construction industry.
Direct Hire, Onsite Salary:
75-85,000/yr Position Summary The Risk Analyst is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating operational, financial, contractual, and project-related risks across the organization. This role partners closely with Project Management, Operations, Finance, Safety, Legal, and Executive Leadership to protect company assets, improve project outcomes, and support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Enterprise & Project Risk Management Identify, assess, and monitor risks across active construction projects, business pursuits, and corporate operations. Develop and maintain project and enterprise risk registers. Evaluate risk exposure related to project size, scope, schedule, geography, delivery method, and contract structure. Participate in risk reviews during pursuit, preconstruction, project kickoff, and execution phases. Recommend mitigation strategies to reduce operational and financial risk. Contract & Legal Risk Analysis Review owner contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and vendor agreements for potential risk exposure. Identify and analyze unfavorable contract terms including indemnification, liquidated damages, warranties, insurance requirements, bonding obligations, and force majeure provisions. Partner with legal counsel and leadership during contract negotiations. Track contractual risk trends and recommend process improvements and risk management policies. Insurance & Claims Management Coordinate with insurance brokers and carriers regarding coverage placement and renewals, including General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Auto, Builders Risk, Professional Liability, and
OCIP/CCIP
programs. Analyze claims history, loss runs, and deductible exposures. Assist with claims administration, documentation, investigations, and resolution efforts. Support annual insurance renewals and insurer reporting requirements. Financial & Operational Risk Analysis Analyze project financial performance to identify risks related to cost overruns, margin erosion, cash flow, productivity, escalation, and supply chain disruptions. Monitor change order activity and project forecasts to identify emerging risks. Support scenario planning, forecasting, and risk modeling for large or complex projects. Partner with Finance and Project Controls teams to develop early warning indicators and risk dashboards. Safety & Compliance Risk Collaborate with Safety and Operations teams to assess workplace safety risks and incident trends. Analyze safety performance metrics and recommend corrective actions. Support compliance with OSHA, DOT, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Assist with internal audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory reporting. Reporting & Communication Prepare risk assessments, executive summaries, dashboards, and reports for leadership. Present risk findings, trends, and mitigation recommendations to senior management. Maintain risk management policies, procedures, and documentation. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to enterprise risk management and operational controls. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in risk management, construction finance, project controls, insurance, audit, or related disciplines. Working knowledge of construction contracts, project delivery methods, and project financials. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
