Hybrid - onsite and remote Responsibilities

+ Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of new business membership applications, serving as the first line of defense against fraud by evaluating business legitimacy, ownership structures, Nature of Business (NOB), NAICS classifications, geographic risk factors, and emerging fraud typologies. Ensure compliance with Know Your Business (KYB), Customer Identification Program (CIP), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and other applicable regulatory requirements.

+ Perform in-depth business verification and investigative due diligence utilizing internal systems, Secretary of State filings, public records, websites, social media platforms, LexisNexis, and other intelligence sources to validate business operations, identify prohibited activities, and detect potential identity theft, synthetic identities, or other fraudulent schemes.

+ Analyze applicant, owner, and related-party information to identify fraud indicators, account relationships, adverse activities, Good Standing concerns, transaction risks, sanctions-related issues, and other red flags that may expose the organization to financial, operational, reputational, or regulatory risk.

+ Exercise sound risk-based judgment to render application decisions, including approvals, denials, escalations, and referrals for suspicious activity review. Document investigative findings, rationale, and supporting evidence while maintaining accurate records in nCino, UAD, and other designated systems to satisfy audit, compliance, and operational standards.

+ Prepare and coordinate denial, escalation, and fraud mitigation actions by developing risk assessments, denial recommendations, member communications, and supporting documentation. Partner closely with Fraud, Risk, Compliance, and Business Fraud Review teams to ensure consistent policy application, effective risk mitigation, and the prevention of account-opening fraud and financial crime. Requirements

+ Experience in conducting risk assessments and fraud detection in financial services or relevant industry

+ Proficiency in using internal systems, public records, social media platforms, LexisNexis, and other investigative tools

+ Knowledge of KYB, CIP, BSA, and applicable regulatory requirements

+ Strong analytical skills to identify fraud indicators and red flags

+ Ability to exercise sound judgment and document findings accurately

+ Excellent coordination skills with risk, compliance, and review teams
