Job Description

Oil:
Hedge Fund - P&L/Risk AssociateOur client, a Hedge Fund based in Stamford, CT (next to train station) is building out their physical Petro trading businesses. This role reports to the
CRO:
provides daily trading (P&L and attribution) and has exposure to market risk analytics (VAR, stress testing) for multiple trading business. The position will assist in building out risk management processes and systems. The firm has an excellent culture, generous bonuses, and a flexible hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor daily trading exposure for the crude oil desk and highlight material risk movements, exceptions, or unusual position changes.
  • Review and reconcile daily profit and loss results, investigating variances and ensuring reporting reflects trading activity accurately.
  • Perform product control activities by validating pricing inputs, position data, and valuation outcomes across relevant books.
  • Partner with traders, finance, and control teams to resolve breaks, clarify trading impacts, and improve the reliability of risk reporting.
  • Prepare regular risk and performance summaries that present key drivers, exposures, and notable developments to stakeholders.
  • Analyze trade and market data to identify trends, explain P&L movements, and support stronger risk transparency.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of reporting tools, controls, and analytical processes used in trading risk oversight.
