Duties Help 1. Performs duties as the Resilience and Risk Reduction Program Coordinor which require the incumbent to analyze trends by utilizing qualitive and quantitive measures to ensure the effective implemention of the Program. Utilizes scholastic research th encompass principles, theories, and findings in industrial/organizional psychology, psychometrics, experimental design/evaluion methodology, educion and training technology, and cognitive psychology in order to modify, revise, improve or cree ARNG programs. Monitors stregies and objectives to ensure they are effective, complete, comprehensive, and compible toward achieving identified goals. Recommends, develops, coordines, and dissemines policies and ARNG guidelines for administrion and management of these programs to include doctrinal development. Provides senior leadership with stistical reports. Reviews nional and internional resilience, risk reduction and suicide prevention initiives, and considers applicability for ARNG. Maintains ARNG wide suicide surveillance to establish any emergent high-risk trends and/or provide early warning when possible factors might lead to increased suicides. Participes with military and other government agencies in the definition of research requirements, the planning for research utilizion, establishment of objectives and policies pertaining to risk reduction, and suicide prevention. Prepares and delivers oral presentions to include briefings, speeches, and training sessions to civilian, and military audiences in areas of technical expertise. Provides direct guidance and support to ARNG personnel in support of the mission. Conducts and/or participes in inspections, staff assistance s, special advisory teams; provides papers and presents briefings. (30%) 2. Serves as the staff consultant on all aspects of the Resilience, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention Program and training and is a focal point for analysis on a full spectrum of issues affecting Soldier accession and recruitment. Plans and develops approaches, methodologies, policies, and procedures for tacking major problems frequently characterized by a lack of precedent studies to expand knowledge in the area. Assesses feasibility of new institutional training and performs research in support of findings from assessment s. Develops partnerships with ste, local and community agencies to support the R3/SPP. Participes in the Commanders Ready and Resilient Council (CR2C). (30%) 3. Serves as the Resilience and Risk Reduction Program Coordinor with the responsibility for the overall planning, developing, coordining, implementing, standardizion and promoting of a comprehensive and effective program aimed the reduction of Soldier and civilian high-risk behaviors (e.g. drug and alcohol, suicide, etc.). Recommends policy, procedures and methodologies to commanders to assist them in reducing both the probability and severity of high-risk behaviors. Provides program guidance to technical specialists involved in readiness, resiliency and retention throughout the ARNG as well as, high-risk operional activities in order to reduce high-risk behaviors. Identifies new resilience, prevention and intervention behavioral risk management programs needed to foster coping skills and reduce high-risk behaviors. Analyzes reports and stistical da, and coordines with subject mter experts for pertinent informion on behavioral and environmental factors; the assessment or prediction of their interaction under varying conditions; and the effectiveness of current or proposed risk reduction measures/programs. Establishes program accountability and program effectiveness measures to ensure continuity and quality of program services through staff assistance s, process reviews, studies, surveys, and inspections. (20%) 4. Participes with military and other government agencies in the definition of research requirements, the planning for research utilizion, and the establishment of objectives and policies pertaining to resilience and risk reduction. Plans and coordines efforts of committees tasked with R3/SPP oversight. Delivers oral presentions to include briefings, speeches, and training sessions, in areas of technical expertise. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
1 year specialized experience equivalent to least the next lower grade level. Experience, educion or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, ghering pertinent da and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluing objectives and develop plans to facilite the availability and effective utilizion of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organizion and its mission and utilized the organizional staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluive techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operions carried out by administrive or professional personnel, or substantive administrive support functions.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • -Knowledge and skills to perform overall administrive functions and program oversight as well as the professional educion to access, manage, and advise on Resilience, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention Programs.
  • -Knowledge of social services delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories reling to one or more of the social or behavioral science fields.
  • -Skill in conducting interviews to gher informion on the nure and extent of a variety of quality of life problems/issues.
  • -Ability to evalue concerns and needs, provide assistance in developing goals and plans, and provide guidance/direction on referral services necessary and/or available.
  • -Ability to establish and maintain effective working relionships with leadership, individuals, families, and representives and officials of social services agencies in the community using tact, diplomacy, and overall professionalism.
